Who we are
QuizNoir and ThreatNoir Academy are run by Marcus Lenngren in Sweden, trading as ThreatNoir. You can reach us at academy@threatnoir.com. How we handle personal data is in our privacy notice.
What the service is
QuizNoir is a free weekly security quiz built from real incidents. ThreatNoir Academy lets an organisation enrol its people, follow who has completed each exercise and download a training register. The Academy is provided under an order with each organisation, which sets seats, price and term, together with our data processing agreement.
Training material, not advice
Questions are written with the help of AI from public reporting. They can contain mistakes, and the facts of an incident often change after the first reports. Use them as training, not as advice for a specific situation. A training register records participation in exercises. It is not a certification and does not on its own show that an organisation meets NIS2, DORA or any other requirement.
Fair play
- Play by hand. Don't use scripts or automation to answer questions or move up a leaderboard.
- Choose a display name that doesn't pretend to be someone else and isn't offensive. We may remove names or results that break this.
- Leaderboards and share cards are public, so don't use a name you want kept private.
- Don't try to get around the service's security or reach another organisation's data. Found a vulnerability? Tell us at academy@threatnoir.com.
Organisations using the Academy
- The organisation decides whom to enrol. It needs a lawful basis for doing so, and it informs the people it enrols, and their representatives where that applies, before enrolment.
- The organisation uses completion records to confirm participation in training, not to evaluate individual people, as the data processing agreement sets out.
- Quizzes an organisation creates in Studio belong to that organisation. It is responsible for the brief and material it provides, which must not contain personal data, and reviews every draft before publishing it.
- Administrators keep their sign-in links to themselves and remove people who leave.
Content and sharing
The weekly quizzes, explanations and the site's design belong to ThreatNoir. Share links and share cards freely, and quote short parts with a link back. Don't republish quizzes in bulk or offer them as your own service.
Availability and changes
We aim to publish a new quiz every week and to keep the service running, but we can't promise it will always be available. We may change, pause or stop parts of it. Organisations' orders can set other commitments.
Liability
The free quiz is provided as is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. For organisations, liability is set by their order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We change the date at the top whenever these terms change, and tell Academy administrators by email about significant changes. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply.
Law and disputes
Swedish law applies, and disputes go to Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
